About the car

In 1975 McLaren further developed the M23, introducing a 6-speed gearbox which enabled McLaren and Fittipaldi to finish second in both the drivers, Emerson Fittipaldi, and constructors championships, behind the Ferrari 312 T of Austrian Niki Lauda.

During the 1975 season, the McLaren team tested different aerodynamic profiles on the M23, such as different snout profiles, wider bodywork in front of the rear wheels and different oil cooler arrangements.

It is made with an aluminum monocoque and possesses a V8 engine that reaches 10800 rpm. The car possesses an engine named Ford-Cosworth DFV and a displacement 2993 cm3.
