Description

About the car

The Quattro is the first sports coupé with permanent all-wheel drive to be produced in series by the brand.  The first generation was powered by a 5-cylinder, 2.1-litre, 10-valve engine (WR type) with turbocharger and intercooler, which increased power to 200 horsepower (compared to 170 horsepower in the version without intercooler that equipped the 200 Turbo). The Audi Quattro is easily recognizable by its widened fenders and specific bumpers, which differentiate it from the Audi GT coupe from which it is derived.

The 0 to 100 km/h time is 7.1 seconds, and the top speed is 222 km/h.

About the Brand

AUDI is a German sports car manufacturer and a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, known as Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (VAG), which owns 99.55% of the brand. The company’s headquarters are in Ingolstadt, Bavaria. With operations in 55 different countries around the world, Audi is present in most segments of the passenger car market, including the premium sports car segment thanks to its two subsidiaries, Lamborghini, and Audi Sport. In 2012, the company sold 1,524,635 vehicles, a record since its founding in 1909, and ranks among the world’ s most profitable manufacturers.

The name ‘Audi’ is a play on words between ‘Audi’, Latin for ‘hear’ or ‘listen’ and the surname of the founder, August Horch, who founded the company on 16 July 1909.
