About the Car

Designed under the direction of James Key and constructed by McLaren, the McLaren MC35 is a Formula One car.  The car was to compete in the 2020 season; however, it was disrupted by COVID-19.  McLaren upgraded the version to a McLaren MCL35M for the 2021 championship with a Mercedes-AMG F1 M12 E Performance engine.  It made its debut at the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix.  New aerodynamic changes and gearbox were introduced in the 2021 season.

Lando Norris born in 1999 is a British-Belgian Formula One racing driver racing under the British flag for McLaren.  At the age of seven he began his racing career claiming a pole position at his first national event.  Norris made his car racing debut in 2014 at the Ginetta Junior Championship.

The 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix was a Formula One race held in March 2021 at the Bahrain International Circuit.  It was the season opener for the 2021 Formula One World Championship with 56 laps.  Lewis Hamilton won the race.

About the Manufacturer

Minichamps was founded in 1990 as a die-cast car producer in Aachen, Germany under the name of Paul’s Model Art GmbH.   The original company was the Danhausen, a trade company that made 1:43 scale models and sold them over the counter and mail order.  From 1971 to 1993 the company published the famous Danhausen World Model Car Book.  Danhausen was owned by the grandsons of Emma Danhausen – Hans Peter and Paul Gunter Lang.  There was a dispute between the brothers in the late 1980’s.  That is when Paul formed the Paul’s Model Art.  Diecast models were made more for the adult clientele and holding their value was a big question that needed to be answered.  Minichamps’ excellent quality has been noticed by Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Opel, and BMW.
