About the car

The 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II seduced the public at its premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show. Developed based on this sporty sedan for Group A racing, it acquired an exceptional status. In the 1992 season, Mercedes-Benz won the first three places in the DTM championship with this vehicle, succinctly called “Evo II”.

Compared to the first Evolution model of the previous year, the engine power had been increased even further, with the Evo II now developing 173 kW (235 hp), compared to 143 kW (195 hp) before.

It can reach a top speed of 250 km/h and accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

Ludwig won the DTM championship in 1992 ahead of Kurt Thiim and Bernd Schneider, all three driving a 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II.
