About the car
The McLaren MP4-19 is a McLaren Racing car entered in the 2004 season and was driven by David Coulthard and Kimi Räikkönen.
Engineers Adrian Newey (aerodynamics) and Mike Coughlan (mechanicals) took inspiration from the MP4-18, softening the concept. The MP4-19 features the same tapered nose and double keel design, but the pontoons are tightened around the Mercedes-Benz V10 engine.
It is made of carbon fibre and honeycomb molded composite monocoque chassis and possesses a V10 engine which reaches up to 15000 rpm. The car possesses an engine named Mercedes-Benz FO 110Q and a displacement 1600 cm3.
