About the Car
The Mercedes-AMT GT R F1 Safety Car has a new look for the first time at the 2020 Formula One season opener, sporting a rainbow graphic on the flanks and hood. They have been supplying cars for the past 25 years with the same silver paint and black décor. The car for Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello will be painted red as a tribute to Ferrari at the Formula One race. Mechanically the car has not changed with a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine to produce 585hp. The car must maintain a high minimum speed to prevent the Formula One tires and brakes from losing too much temperature and the engines from overheating. It has a top speed of 197mph, and 0-62 in 3.6 seconds.
The Tuscan Grand Prix at the Ferrari-owned track will be the 1,000th Formula One championship race for the manufacturer.

About the Manufacturer
Minichamps was founded in 1990 as a die-cast car producer in Aachen, Germany under the name of Paul’s Model Art GmbH. The original company was the Danhausen, a trade company that made 1:43 scale models and sold them over the counter and mail order. From 1971 to 1993 the company published the famous Danhausen World Model Car Book. Danhausen was owned by the grandsons of Emma Danhausen – Hans Peter and Paul Gunter Lang. There was a dispute between the brothers in the late 1980’s. That is when Paul formed the Paul’s Model Art. Diecast models were made more for the adult clientele and holding their value was a big question that needed to be answered. Minichamps’ excellent quality has been noticed by Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Opel, and BMW.
