Description
About the car
The car was designed by Rory Byrne, and built by Toleman Motorsport. The TG183B had distinctive twin rear wings and front wing mounted radiators. The front wing destabilized the car at high speed and was replaced with a more conventional front wing set up.
The car spotted a Hart 415T four cylinder longitudinally mounted turbo engine.
Despite not winning any race, the car is notable for being the debut of Ayrton Senna. Senna raced it three times in 1984. At the Monaco 1984 GP, Senna finished a close second after early suspension of the race due to wet conditions. Only 31 of the 78 laps had been completed.
