In 2019 Sebastien Buemi gave Nissan a maiden win in the fifth ever Formula E season. He won the all-electric series in New York and also finished in the runner-up spot in the championship, while taking a second WEC title, which is the World Endurance Championship. Buemi also won Le Mans that same year.
The Formula E car produced by Nissan e.dams was a product that had been a long time in the making. Nissan made their all-electric racing debut in season five of the ABB FIA Formula E championship, which was the 2018/19 season. In this first season for them, Sebastien Buemi took second in the championship, as previously mentioned. The team also recorded six pole positions and sixteen super pole qualifying appearances. This solidified Nissan e.dams as the best qualifying team in the championship.
Nissan’s Formula E car is now having to compete against the Generation 2 Formula E car, which has more power and a higher top speed. The Nissan is however one of the more controllable Formula E cars, and its striking red and black livery makes it stand out amongst the crowd.
