Venturi Racing, who used to be known as Venturi Formula E team, are a Monegasque motor racing team, and they compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. They challenge with a single-make chassis built by Spark, a high-performance electric car developer, and initially they built their own powertrains. However, they partnered with Mercedes for the 2019-20 season, and so with the new collaboration, they have been able to further their technology.

For Formula E’s fifth season, which was 2018-19, Venturi signed a three-year deal with eleven-time Formula One race winner Felipe Massa. He was to be partnered with seven-time Macau World Cup winner, Edoardo Mortara. Their combined experience proved to be pivotal for Venturi’s success that season.

At Formula E’s landmark 50^th race, which was the 2019 Hong Kong ePrix, Mortara recorded Venturi’s maiden victory. They then took further podiums at the Mexico City ePrix and Monaco ePrix, which in turn was the site of Massa’s first ever podium finish in Formula E. With 88 points, the team took a respectable eighth in the championship. Mortara finished 14^th, and Massa 15^th.

Whilst the striking silver Venturi Formula E car wasn’t the most successful, it was certainly one of the best looking, and hiring Massa and Mortara allowed Venturi to gain some publicity and recognition.
