About the car
The fourteenth McLaren Formula One car, the McLaren MP4-23 is the Formula One car to compete for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team in the 2008 Formula One World Championship. The car is powered by Mercedes and was unveiled in Stuttgart on 7 January 2008. It was first driven on 9 January 2008 at the Jerez circuit in Spain by the famous Lewis Hamilton and the Finn Heikki Kovalainen.
It is made of carbon fibre and honeycomb molded composite monocoque chassis, and possesses a V8 engine, which reaches up to 15000 rpm. The car possesses an engine named Mercedes-Benz FO 108V and a displacement 2398 cm3.
