Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team F1 W08 EQ Power+, Lewis Hamilton – (186170044):
In the experienced, winning hands of Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ was a phenomenal machine, cruising to victory on more than one occasion. It was designed and developed by the Mercedes-Benz team; primarily Paddy Lowe, Aldo Costa and Geoff Willis, and it was produced to compete during the 2017 Formula One World Championship.
Nowadays, Formula One teams measure every single detail to the most intricate unit, and the W08 EQ Power+ is no different. Every weight and size is measured to enhance and boost the performance in every aspect. The chassis is made of moulded carbon fibre, and is a honeycomb composite structure. The suspension is also completely made out of carbon fibre, shredding precious grams off of the total weight. The engine is a turbocharged Mercedes-AMG F1 M08 EQ Power+ V6, with a 1.6-litre capacity, and this works in tandem with both a Motor Generator Unit – Kinetic (MGU-K) and a Motor Generator Unit – Heat (MGU-H). It’s proficient enough to produce an absurd 1000 horsepower, and the entire car itself weighs just 728 kilograms.
The F1 W08 EQ Power+ secured twelve victories, Hamilton clinching nine of them, and Valtteri Bottas with the other three, fifteen pole positions, nine fastest laps and four 1-2 finishes. Mercedes sealed their fourth consecutive Constructors’ Championship at the United States Grand Prix, with three races to spare, and at the season’s next race, in Mexico, Lewis Hamilton claimed his fourth World Drivers’ Championship.
The elegant and beautiful W08 EQ Power+ is not to be taken lightly, and was absolutely dominant throughout the course of the 2017 season. With Hamilton at the wheel, its sleek grey livery was often nothing but a streak ahead in the eyes of the other drivers.
