About the car
This car was built by Land Rover in 1984 with the production line for the Defender 90 lasting until 2016 due to a change to the name because of the introduction of the Land Rover Discovery. In 1990 the Land Rover 90 became the Land Rover Defender 90. The Defender 90 comes in a body style of a 4×4 3-door.
This small off-roader was launched with a 2.5 litre 200tdi turbodiesel engine, which in 1994 got alternated to a 300tdi. In 1998, the 2.5 litre Td5 turbodiesel engine became standardised for the Land Rover Defender. This allowed the Defender to be comfortable at high speeds, as well as tow heavy loads speedily on slopes whilst still maintaining an economical balance.
The Tdi’s mixture of quality performance and economy made for a lot of sales, however exceptions were the British Army who continued to use naturally aspirated 2.5 litre diesel engines. The Land Rover 90 comes in a variety of colours, this one being yellow.
