About the car
The Haas VF-20 is the Formula 1 car entered by the American Haas F1 Team for the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship. For the fourth year running, the driver pairing is Romain Grosjean from France and Kevin Magnussen from Denmark.
It is made of carbon fibre and honeycomb molded composite monocoque chassis, and possesses a V6 engine, which reaches up to 15000 rpm. The car possesses an engine named Ferrari Tipo 065 and a displacement 2398 cm3.
At the end of round eleven of the fifth season, Haas scored three points after Magnussen finished tenth in Hungary and Grosjean finished ninth at the Eifel Grand Prix with a one-stop strategy.
In Bahrain, Grosjean collided with Daniil Kvyat on the first lap and hit the front rail at full speed in an impact measured at 53g; his car, split in two and with its survival cell completely embedded in the barriers, immediately burst into flames; the Frenchman, who was able to extricate himself from the inferno, was then airlifted to a hospital for examination; he suffered only burns to his hands and feet. He notes that the halo probably saved his life.
