About the car
First announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, the Porsche 991 GT2 RS is shown at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It was unveiled at the Xbox conference by Microsoft in Los Angeles in June 2017.
The car uses the 911 Turbo S’s 3.8 twin-turbocharged Flat-6 engine of 580 horsepower, which Porsche has boosted to 700 hp at 7,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque available from 2,500 rpm. To date, this is the most powerful and most efficient 911 ever produced in series by Porsche. The 911 reached 340 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.
In the same month of September, it became the fastest production car on the Nürburgring circuit, completing a lap of the 20.6-kilometer Nürburgring North Loop in 6 minutes 47.3 seconds, beating the former record holder, the Lamborghini Huracán Performance.
