Honda Civic Type R – Championship White – (KSR18029W):
The Civic Type R is Honda’s high-performance variant of their well-renowned and ever-reliable Civic. It’s just the third model to receive the Type R badge after the NSX and Integra.
Honda implemented a lighter yet stiffer body to the Civic Type R, decreasing its weight and improving handling and manoeuvrability. Furthermore, the Type R had a specially tuned engine, upgrades to the brakes and chassis, and also a special edition red bade to distinguish the Type R from lesser models, if the noise and not-so-subtle bodywork weren’t enough already.
The Honda Civic Type R received a mostly positive reception after its launch, and it won AutoExpress’ Hot Hatch of the Year award. It uses similar gear to the standard model, but has been given boosts and upgrades in various significant areas. One of which is an overhaul and slight power boost to the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. It can produce 210 horsepower, which is an incredibly impressive return. This was proved true at the Nürburgring, as it could reach 0-62 miles per hour in as little as 5.7 seconds, and had a top speed of 169 miles per hour. The Civic Type-R set a front-wheel drive hot hatchback lap record at the Nürburgring of 7 minutes and 48 seconds. Furthermore, Honda claim the Type R is the only hot hatchback capable of producing downforce at speed, which subsequently helps to improve stability and overall performance. The astronomical spoilers and wings certainly aren’t just for show.
Honda’s Civic Type R is a revolutionary hot hatchback, capable of being nimble and snappy, yet also retaining comfort, accessibility, and reliability. The ice white model perfectly restores this sense, with every finely-tuned detail captured and intricately reimagined. Its bold red accents highlight the cars more miss-able features, and its crisp white paint emboldens every part.
