The 2017 24 Hours of Daytona, contested on January 28 and January 29, at Daytona International Speedway, is the fifty-fifth edition of the event, the fifty-first in a twenty-four-hour format, and the first round of the 2017 Sports Car Championship.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is a sports car from the German manufacturer Porsche that was launched in 1999. It is a high- efficiency version of the 911. It was developed in Stuttgart, Germany. The current engine is a liquid-cooled flat-six with a displacement of 3.8 litres and a power output of 475 horsepower (320 kW) at 7,500 rpm. Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 9,000 rpm.
