About the car

This car was produced by French automobile manufacturer, Alpine, which was known to work very closely with another French automobile manufacturer, Renault. The A110 could be thought of as a Renault sports car due to the multiple parts produced and supplied by Renault in the making of it, including the engine and the 5-gear manual transmission.

The Alpine A110 was known to dominate rally racing throughout the 1970’s due to a low suspension; the rear-mounted placement of the engine – giving it good traction off the starting line and a beneficial braking balance; a weight of just 635kg, and a bhp of 140. By the end of the 1973 season of rally racing, the Renault Alpine A110 had six glorious victories to its name.

This vehicle flaunted its popularity throughout the 60’s and 70’s to a worldwide audience. In addition to Alpine’s original factory, different versions of the Renault A110 were legally built by other car manufacturers from around the globe, for example, in Mexico, Spain and Bulgaria.

About the Brand

Alpine is a French car manufacturer which was established in 1955, founded by Jean Rédélé. The Alpine brand has been closely associated with Renault throughout its entire history and was officially bought by it in 1973, with the Alpine competition department turning into Renault Sport. In turn, the production of Alpine models became discontinued in 1995.
