About the car

First announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, the Porsche 991 GT2 RS is shown at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It was unveiled at the Xbox conference by Microsoft in Los Angeles in June 2017.

The car uses the 911 Turbo S’s 3.8 twin-turbocharged Flat-6 engine of 580 horsepower, which Porsche has boosted to 700 hp at 7,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque available from 2,500 rpm. To date, this is the most powerful and most efficient 911 ever produced in series by Porsche. The 911 reached 340 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.

In the same month of September, it became the fastest production car on the Nürburgring circuit, completing a lap of the 20.6-kilometer Nürburgring North Loop in 6 minutes 47.3 seconds, beating the former record holder, the Lamborghini Huracán Performance.

About the Brand

On April 25, 1931, Ferdinand Porsche founded the company Porsche, which was later taken over by his son Ferry Porsche and is a German manufacturer of racing cars. In fact, it was engineer Ferdinand Porsche who invented the first Volkswagen.

Despite the obstacles caused by COVID-19, the German car brand Porsche has set a new sales target for 2020. Estimated at 28.7 billion euros, this is an increase of 100 million euros compared to 2019, whereas profits are estimated at 4.2 billion euros. In order to achieve this performance, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer delivered more than 270,000 vehicles to its customers worldwide, representing a decrease in sales volume compared to 2019.
