Description

Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R – Silver – (KSR18050SB):

The first cars named Skyline GT-R were manufactured between 1969 and 1972, under the model code KPGC10. They were extremely dominant in Japanese touring car races. However, the first Skyline GT-R was known internally as the PGC10.

It was introduced on the 4th February 1969, and was solely exclusive to a Japanese Nissan dealership network called Nissan Prince Store, when the Prince company was merged into Nissan operations back in 1966.

Originally, the car was available as a four-door sedan, after publicly debuting at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1968. Nissan advertised the car alongside their R380 race car, showcasing the Skyline’s racing heritage.

The 2000 GT-R was fitted with a 2.0-litre DOHC S20 Inline-six engine, capable of producing 160 horsepower at a rate of 7,000 rpm. It was rear-wheel drive, and had a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential. The 2000 GT-Rs braking system consisted of disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.

Interior-wise, the car was extremely basic. Many things were finished in aluminium, to save weight, and the seats were bucket seats.

This silver model captures the lovely simplicity of the 2000 GT-R, yet still preserves the underlying racing heritage and success.
