About the car
This car was produced by German Automobile manufacturer Porsche in 2018.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R is based on the second generation of the 991 series.
The racer is powered by a four-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine. It boasts improved aerodynamics, enhanced drivability, advanced optimization to safety features, and reductions in servicing and parts costs. The drivetrain delivers 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.9 seconds.
For its debut at the Nordschleife track, the front axle was fitted with a larger tyre size (300/680R18 instead of 300/660R18), while the rear axle remained unchanged.
Driven by the Manthey Team, Porsche 911 GT3 R was the winner of the 24-Hour Endurance Race at Nürburgring in 2018. This cemented the Manthey Team as the most successful team in the 24-hour race and giving Porsche their first win in the format since 2011.
