Subaru Impreza 22B STI – Blue – (KSR18033BL):
Subaru have been making the Impreza since 1992. Originally, it was intended to be the successor to the Leone, however, the Impreza has performed exceedingly well. So much in fact, that not many people remember the Leone anymore, and instead the Impreza’s legacy has been cemented in history.
The 22B STI is perhaps the most fabled Impreza of them all. Only 424 units were ever manufactured, all of them being right-hand drive. 400 were built solely for the Japanese market, and that was to be it. However, Subaru decided later on to build an additional 24 examples for export markets.
Throughout the 1990s, Subaru was the manufacturer that dominated the rallying stage. The success was pivotal in launching the first Impreza WRX in 1992, and the first Impreza WRX STI in 1994. However, the legendary 22B STI came in 1998. Not only was it iconic, but it was made in celebration of Subaru World Rally Team’s hattrick of World Rally Championship titles between 1995 and 1997, as well as Subaru’s 40th anniversary. It was almost poetic how well everything aligned, for Subaru to make the perfect Impreza.
Subaru’s fabled rallying heritage is encapsulated exquisitely in this blue Impreza, with its bold bronze wheels and large spoiler as complements.
