Description
Subaru S208 NBR Challenge Pack – Grey – (KSR18032CG):
The Subaru S208 was based on the S207 WRX Sti, which was Subaru’s range-topping rally-red variant of the Impreza saloon. However, the S208 has received a couple of changes and upgrades to make it stand out.
To commemorate its World Rally Championship days, the 2.5-litre engine was replaced by a specially-tuned 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four. This is due to the fact that two litres was the maximum allowed engine capacity when Subaru competed in the World Rally Championship. Regardless of losing half a litre of engine capacity, the engine was capable of putting out an incredible 324 brake horsepower. That was actually 24 more brake horsepower than its predecessor, the 2.5-litre. Power is channelled through Subaru’s excellent four-wheel-drive system, as well as a six-speed manual gearbox.
450 units were manufactured. However, 350 of these were fitted with an exclusive NBR Challenge Pack. That featured adjustable rear suspension, a quicker steering rack and torque vectoring. The NBR models also have accessories and mechanics taken from the WRX STis that currently compete at the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance races.
Moreover, the NBR units are heavily comprised of carbon fibre, with parts such as the roof and the spoiler being remodelled.
The model is complete with a sleek, crisp grey livery and bold black wheels, greatly contrasting one another and further highlighting its more prominent features. Subtle red accents line the front bumper, and each air vent is expertly crafted, allowing the model to be as realistic as possible.
